Dear Sir/Madam, CLRI, a premier research organization in the country has a mandate to provide support to leather and allied sector. Highly qualified and able scientific personnel serving this reputed institute enable CLRI achieve its goal. Promotion of Science & Technology to the Society forms an important National agenda for CLRI. This has made us committed to provide possible support to many educational institutions in the country by way of training their students in R & D Projects of mutual interest. This trend has reached a significant level. Last year we have witnessed a record high of more than 600 students registering for such higher level training. While we continue to support the cause for science education in the country, we are also committed to many important R & D Projects which are time-bound and require much focused attention. With our limited S & T Personnel it has become extremely difficult for us to support educational institutions as before. It has been proposed to streamline such endeavour through a formal MOU between the educational Institutions and CLRI. This would attract a nominal fee which we think would help the institutions, students and CLRI in providing the support in an efficient manner. The Institute wishes to contain the intake of B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc./M.E./M.Tech/M.Phil students to a level which would not affect our main R & D priorities. The Institute will be charging a minimum of Rs.25,000/- toward signing an MOU with the educational institutions to train five students from B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc. for a period of not more than three months. Or 3 M.E. / M.Tech / M.Phil students for a period of not more than six months. The Institutions are requested to send students from diversed subjects which could help us in providing better training. The Institutes which intend to send more number of students can do so after discussions with CLRI for a total MOU fees of not more than Rs.50,000/- and with necessary payments as mentioned in the table. I hope you realize the need for focused & efficient training of the students require continuous support from both ends. This arrangement would greatly help CLRI in planning well ahead for the proposed training of the students. With regards |
