Biodiesel Process Technology (International Patent Filed through CSIR: IMPD Ref No. 0290 NF 2003.     PCT / IB 03/ 05349 (21.11.2003).      US & JP 20050108927, Sl No. 718559 (Nov 24, 2003). Australia Vol. 19 No.30,  INID No. AU-A- 2003282270) has been transferred to M/s Vel Biodiesel Energy Pvt. Ltd. The technology transfer agreement with CLRI and M/s Vel Biodiesel Energy Pvt. Ltd. As per the agreement, signed on 28th November 2005 Biodiesel Process was demonstrated to the company at the Pilot Plant Level.

The Biodiesel Process Demonstration was inaugurated by Dr. S. Rajamani, Director, CLRI on 28th June 2006 in the Chemical Engineering Pilot Plant. The first batch product has been shown to Mr. S.V. Balraj, Managing Director, and the Board of Directors of Vel Biodiesel Energy Pvt. Ltd. in presence of Dr. S. Rajamani, Director CLRI.  Biodiesel process innovator Mr. K.C.Velappan, Scientist explained the technical aspect to all the participants includes Senior Scientists and Area Leaders of CLRI. The ready-to-use product, Biodiesel, has been used as a fuel in their company’s car for trail run.

The company has been satisfied with the process demonstration and the training provided by CLRI.
