This department focuses its research effort in the area of Magnetic Resonance (NMR / EPR / NQR). Primary Interest is oriented towards methodology development, including experiment protocol (eg. pulse sequnce) design for spectroscopy and spatial resolution imaging, diffusion), as well as hardware and software design. Set up the first multi purpose liquids/solids FT NMR facility in India (1992 300MHz). Developed homonuclear spectral editing and two dimentional experiments, especially rotating frame NMR spectroscopy and high resolution spin -1 applications. Developed resolution enhanced Imaging, two shot diffusion measurment protocol and contributed to development of indirect 13C imaging. First industrial applications of these techniques in India.
