What is EXCEL?

EXCEL was established in January 1996 with funding from the Ministry of Commerce through Council of Leather Exports. The policy of the laboratory is to cater to the leather industry in the analysis of eco-sensitive chemicals in leather and leather products.

In view of the importance of leather export and the recent bans on several of the chemicals by importing countries, it has become necessary to establish state-of-the-art facilities to analyse chemicals.

This laboratory has so far analysed several thousand samples specifically for PCP, Azo Dyes, Chromium VI, Formaldehyde and toxic elements.

Policy Statement

EXCEL has a policy to render prompt service in testing and quality assurance of leather chemicals in general and eco-sensitive chemicals in particular in accordance with international norms and procedures.
