Have expertise in process control for avoiding toxic chromate in finished leather.

Have expertise in quantitative analysis of leather and leather products for hexavalent chromium and pentachlorophenol using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer and GC – ECD.

Technology/ Knowledge Extension

 

Demonstrated cleaner chrome tanning technology (high uptake and closed loop recycling systems) at commercial scale in Kolkata tanneries

Edited the Journal of Indian Leather Technologists’ Association during the period from
[Aug2008 to Aug 2010].

Event Organization

 

Planned, co-ordinated and organized the LERIG Kolkata Chapter held at Kolkata on the theme Global Benchmarks for Leather Sector on May 5, 2003.

Planned and organized a short-term training programme At RCED(CLRI), Kolkata for skill and quality upgradation in leather industry. The programme was funded by SIDBI.

Participated in the Leadership Development Programme organized at HRDC (CSIR), Gaziabad in 2008 – 2009 for middle to senior level leaders of CSIR. Mr. Ian Dean was the tutor and Mrs. Naomi, Dr. Anup Kumar Mukhopadhyay and Dr. Rakesh Kumar were the co-tutors in the programme.
