Finished leather certification and technical opinion on leather
  • CLRI is the certifying agency for issue of certificates for export of all kinds of finished leathers. Being the convenor of finished leather certification committee, an important technical body of the Institute. I carried out this assignment on day to day basis. This includes categorization of sample received, assessment of processing operations, testing and analysis of samples and issue of certificates along with duly endorsed counter samples.

Integrated Development of Leather Sector Scheme (IDLS) of Departmrnt of Industrial Policy & Promotoin (DIPP), Govt. Of India, New Delhi

  • Member of  Project Implementation Unit for tanneries  at CLRI

Consultancy projects
  1. Application of fluorinated acrylic co polymers for oil & water repellence of high value leathers such as upholstery, gloving and upper leathers. The project was sponsored by M/s.Atofina, France.
  2. Crusting of low grade wet blue cow leathers for finishing by transfer coating technology. The consultancy project was completed for M/s.Uma Leathers Pvt. Ltd, Chennai.
  3. Crusting process for wet blue split leathers for finishing by transfer coating technology. The project was under taken for M/s.Naagu Leathers Chennai.
  4. Evaluation of wax formulations of M/s. Savitha chemicals, Mumbai for application in leather finishing.
  5. Evaluation of Polyurethane dispersions of Pidilite Industries Ltd., Mumbai for their suitability in leather finishing.
