Prof.Y.Nayudamma, a Chemist and a Chemical Engineer
by training, had immensely contributed to develop CLRI during initial
stages of its establishment. He was greatly responsible for building international
image for the institute and for establishing close linkages with the Indian
leather industry.
He had many National and International Awards/Honours to his credit including
the Padmashri.
He became Director General, CSIR, New Delhi and then Vice-Chancellor,
Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. He also served in many prestigious
National and International Committees.
