Societal Programmes

1) “Enhancement of Economic and Social Status of Rural Populace of North East India” under CSIR –HARIT programme

Preamble

CSIR proposed “Harnessing Appropriate Rural Interventions and Technologies” (CSIR-HARIT) Programme to focus on enhancing income generation and improvement in quality of lives of rural communities, thus catalyzing and bringing socio-economic development through CSIR interventions/ technologies.

The programme was inaugurated on 16th July 2019 by Shri.Karam Shyam, Hon’ble Minister, Revenue, CAF&PD, Manipur.

Around 50 trainees enrolled for the training programme. Except 10 trainees who possessed skill in product making, all the others were fresher’s. The four-day training programme was intended to give awareness in product making and introduction to design of combination products. Details about the scheduled 4 weeks training programme was explained to the trainees.


2) National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) Programme & Self-help group (SHG) programme

SPDC technical personnel’s visited the training centers’ across Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh under NSFDC and SHG programs. The main purpose of the visits undertaken was to assess the skills capabilities of the candidates’ undergone diversified modules of footwear, leather goods and leather garments during the year 2019-20. The qualified candidates were recommended for the award of technical certificates for employability and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The details of total number of candidates assessed are detailed as under:

NSFDC PROGRAMME - 289 Candidates

SHG PROGRAMME - 771 Candidates

First Training programme

First Training programme was conducted from 30/09/2019 to 17/10/2019 on “Development of combination products” at Ningthoukhong, dist Bishnupur, Manipur

Second Training programme

Second Training programme was conducted from 20/11/2019 to 07/12/2019 on “Development of combination products” at CSIR NEIST Branch Lab, Imphal, Manipur

Third Training programme

Third Training programme was conducted from 30/12/2019 to 11/01/2020 on “Development of combination products” at EEMA, Keishampat, Imphal, Manipur

Fourth Training programme

Fourth Training programme was conducted from 22/01/2020 to 22/02/2020 on “Development of combination products” at CSIR NEIST Branch Lab, Imphal, Manipur

Fifth Training programme

Fifth Training programme was conducted from 10/02/2020 to 27/02/2020 on “Development of combination products” at RC & AC, Churachanpur,Manipur

Sixth Training programme

Sixth Training programme was conducted from 21/02/2020 to 22/02/2020 on “Design Innovation and Product Design for Northeast India” at Department of Design, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati for the Master of Design (M.Des) student.

Certificate distribution at CSIR Connect North East :

CSIR, CSIR-NEIST, CSIR-CFTRI and CSIR-IHBT had organized a consultative meeting on Food processing –cum-Techno Exhibition “CSIR Connect North East” on January 24th 2020 at CSIR NEIST branch Laboratory, Lamphelpet, Imphal. Dr RK. Ranjan Singh, MP, Imphal Manipur and Dr. Shekar C. Mande, DG, CSIR presented the certificates to the trainees of CSIR HARIT programme.
