LEATHER GARMENT/GOODS TRAINING CENTRE
Leather Garment/Goods Training Centre was established in the year 1996 with modern machinery facilities, all imported, under the Leather Technology Mission (LTM) programme of Government of India in collaboration with Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC), Chandigarh and Punjab Leather Federation, Jalandhar to cater the needs of trained, skilled manpower for the Leather Garment/ Goods industry of this region.
The Leather Garments/ Goods Training Centre has been established in the building having an area of approx. 5600 sq. ft., provided by the PSIEC Ltd. The PSIEC Ltd. has also provided furniture and fixtures for the Centre. The CLRI has installed state-of-the-art machinery facilities, worth Rs. 20.00 lakhs in the Centre.

B.TECH (LEATHER TECHNOLOGY) PROGRAMME OF DR. B.R. AMBEDKAR NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, JALANDHAR
An MOU was signed between the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar & CLRI for providing Technical Support to the NIT for conducting B.Tech (Leather Tech) Course
THE ACTIVITIES INCLUDED ARE:
- PROVIDING LABORATORY FACILITIES OF THE CENTRE TO THE NIT
- CONDUCTING PRACTICAL CLASSES OF THE STUDENTS
- THEORY CLASSES AS PER REQUEST OF NIT
- SUPPORT IN DIFFERENT PHASES OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT
- TECHNICAL GUIDANCE FOR CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
- DEVELOPMENT OF LABORATORY & LIBRARY FACILITIES AT NIT
- ASSISTANCE IN TRAINING & PLACEMENT OF THE STUDENTS
- CONDUCTION OF PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS
- GUIDANCE IN PROJECT WORK OF STUDENTS
