CLRI Regional Centre for Extension & Development, Ahmedabad was established in 1962 at Rajkot and afterwards shifted to Ahmedabad in 1993 with the financial support from Govt. of Gujarat for Land, Building and Machinery. The Centre has been rendering technical assistance to leather & allied industries in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra region through
- Practical demonstrations to tanners for making effective show-how of the know-how of the processes developed in the Institute.
- Running training programmes in leather processing and leather goods manufacturing
- Trouble shooting and solving adhoc problems posed by the industry.
- Helping rural leather industry in improvement of processes.
- Technical consultancy and trade counselling.
